My old installation still works with MO 1.3.11, the only problem is downloading and updating mods (again, not a big deal since I don't play it at the moment), but maybe I can somehow use MO2 for that and still run it through MO 1.3.11.

It's not a big deal since I'm not playing Oblivion at the moment and also using MO with Oblivion is a real pain for numerous reasons, so I think I will be using Wrye Bash or maybe Vortex the next time I want to mod a new game. Providing the hook.dll from the old MO doesn't change anything, though. I noticed that MO 2 doesn't place the hook.dll in the obse/plugins folder, and it also doesn't exist in the MO 2 installation folder. This mod is in OMOD format, so requires Oblivion. This mod continues to evolve, and now features the ability to customize the interface in-game. So, I'm able to move elements of the Darnified UI, but the HUD Status Bars elements remain static. And, logically, the two don't talk to each other. Making matters more complex is I'm running Darnified UI. When trying to launch the game, the Oblivion.exe process is started and maxes out one CPU core, but it only uses a few MB RAM, which never increases and the game never actually starts. Version 1.3.1 of the DarNified interface overhaul. So, I'm struggling to make heads or tails out of the two HUD Status Bar. And that can cause anything from a missing texture to an immediate CTD.Switching from MO 1.3.11 to MO 2.1.3 because of the Nexus login changes I find that the script extender workaround doesn't work for me with Oblivion. It's not that it necessarily will - just that it can and all too often does. For some reason, it can and sometimes will lose track of things. The problem with NMM and Oblivion is that it doesn't track files 100% accurately and consistently. It might well work, but you can't ever be sure that it's working. It doesn't rely on a unique archive format, so you can drop whatever archive you downloaded into its mods folder and it'll find it and read it. It might well work, but you cant ever be sure that its working. You might well be better off using Wrye Bash. Again, I can't tell from your post if that's pertinent or not.

If not though - if it's any other sort of archive or just loose files - then you have to convert it to an OMOD to get it to show up in OBMM.
